Since 1998, when Stanislava Varshavski and Diana Shapiro started to play together, their duo
became one of the
most renowned contemporary piano duos.
Varshavski and
Shapiro were
laureates of numerous prestigious national and international
competitions:

Winners at the world's biggest competition for piano duos

Murray Dranoff International Two Piano Competition in Miami, FL.

2004 –
The Grand Prize at the 15th Piano Competition
“Rome 2004” (two pianos section) in Rome, Italy. They were scored
100 of 100 points for the first time in the history of 15
competitions.

Prize at the 15th Piano Competition “Rome 2004”
(one piano four hands section) in Rome, Italy.

“Kol HaMusica” Young Artists Competition in Jerusalem, Israel.

Competition in Bialystok, Poland.
The ensemble participated in
international festivals and performed solo recitals
in Czech Republic, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Poland,
Russia and US. Varshavski and Shapiro also appeared with number of
well-known orchestras, such as the Radio Orchestra in
Munich, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra,
Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra,
Moravian Chamber Orchestra and
"New World" Symphony Orchestra of Miami.
Duo Varshavski-Shapiro made
numerous recordings for Bavarian Radio, Radio 4 of Hong Kong
and Israeli National Radio and TV. Moreover, number of duo's
performances was broadcast live on radio throughout the world.
Stanislava and Diana hold
Bachelor and Master Degrees from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and
Dance, where they studied under the legendary Israeli duo Alexander
Tamir – Bracha Eden. Later on the duo continued their education
under famous American pianist Victor Rosenbaum and in 2008 both
musicians start their Doctoral degree studies at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison.
